Throughout October on the Operations channel we will be focusing on Major Facilities Systems and Associated Equipment Maintenance. The scope of each article should focus on techniques for the proper installation, maintenance, and/or operation of major facility systems. Consideration should be given to system best practices that our audience, who may be operating similar systems, can learn from. Proposed article topics include, but are not limited to:
- Chilled Water Cooling Systems: Piping, Pumps, and Chilled Water Generators
- Hot Water Heating Systems: Piping, Lagging, Pumps, and Boilers
- Forced Air Systems: Ductwork, Dampers, Blowers, and Air Handlers
- Fire Alarms: Wiring and Devices
- Compressed Air Systems: Compressors, Piping, and Storage Tanks
- Sewage Systems: Piping, Pumps, Holding Tanks, and Treatment Packages
- Other potential article topics include Roofing Systems, Storm Water, Security Alarms, IT Networks and Cabling, and Potable Water.
