An Introduction to the Buildipedia Community
Buildipedia’s Community is the first social networking site geared specifically to the AEC industry, product manufacturers, homeowners, and anyone interested in the world of building.
With Buildipedia’s Community, the possibilities are endless. Members can use their page to post their professional details, upload job pictures, share links and publicly or privately message other members. Companies, firms, and manufacturers can share project and product news, press releases, and connect with customers.
Groups allow members to connect and discuss topics, whether it be a group of employees working at the same company, product enthusiasts, or regional trade affiliations. A powerful search feature can also serve as a directory, whether you are looking to connect with suppliers, firms, or contractors in your area for bids, job leads, or just to ask a question.
Buildipedia’s team of developers is committed to offering the most useful tools to its audience. We will be constantly developing new add-on applications and functions to allow all Community members to achieve their individual goals by connecting and interacting with each other.

Guidelines
The goal of the Buildipedia Community is to provide a networking opportunity for all the members of the site and to cultivate an environment where professionals, homeowners, DIY'ers, Manufacturers and Vendors can all communicate directly. To achieve this, there are a few usage conditions and guidelines that have been set forth to maintain consistency across the site and hopefully avoid confusion and let the community be a community!
We respect the rights of individuals and expect you to do the same. If you feel any content violates any of these guidelines, or you need to bring it to the attention of a moderator please use the ‘Report’ link to notify the moderators.
Groups
Buildipedia is about bringing people, professionals, and companies together in an environment that can enable more direct discussion about the built world.
- Groups are encouraged to have several administrators.
- Duplicate groups should be avoided, and every effort will be made to merge duplicates and group leaders.
- Groups about companies should be created in the spirit of enabling user discussion and collaboration in addition to promotional value.
- The Group leaders should take votes or make guidelines for their group as long as they also conform to the Buildipedia Community guidelines.
Group Ownership
- All groups are owned by the original creator. Buildipedia.com reserves the right to remove, modify, or delete any group without prior notice.
- A group "creator" is the person who suggested the creation of a group. The group creator may be changed to a moderator or administrator of Buildipedia.com at any time.
- Groups are open forums giving the ability to any user to post and participate in discussions unless the privacy of the group is altered by its creator.
- We do encourage that groups elect/add several group "admins" (aka group leaders).
Advertising/Promotion
Promotion of services, products or companies should be reasonable and is only allowed in your Personal Profile or Company Group/Fan Page about that company, service or product. No self or commercial promotion in Topical Discussion Groups is allowed by default, however the group leaders are ultimately responsible for moderating their groups.
Users may not attempt to place any AdSense or other Paid Advertising anywhere on Buildipedia.com.

Moderation
- Those who do not follow the guidelines as stated above may be warned: five (5) Warnings are given before the repeat offenders receive a permanent ban.
- Users with offensive usernames, avatars, or other offensive or inappropriate posts will be blocked without warning.
- Content not following the guidelines may be deleted or edited without warning.
- Spam will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban.
- We reserve the right to adjust these guidelines as is deemed necessary.
- We also reserve the right to adjust the consequences to fit the case.
