This topic includes information related to vents installed during construction.  Vents provide air movement and ventilation for a variety of spaces within a structure.  They are not mechanical, rather they rely on the passive principles to cool a space.  Vents should also prevent the undesirable elements, such as rain, snow and debris from entering into a space.  Spaces that are typically ventilated in a residential structure include the attic and crawlspace.
