Traffic-Stopping Polymer Roof Installation in Canada

Written by

The installation of the first DaVinci Roofscapes® polymer roof in Thunder Bay, Canada has caused quite a stir --- and a traffic jam. During the six-day installation process of a Bellaforté Slate roof on the home of Barry George, both car and foot traffic came to a standstill in front of his Tudor-style home.

Traffic-Stopping Polymer Roof Installation in Canada

“This product literally caused traffic issues on the main road that fronts our home,” says George. “During the installation process we had a steady stream of people stopping as they drove by, plus people just camped out on our front lawn asking questions about the product while it was being installed.

“Today we are the only home within hundreds of miles with this polymer roofing product. However, after all the excitement it’s generated, I’m certain more Canadians will be requesting it soon.”

George selected the DaVinci Roofscapes man-made roofing materials after searching the Internet and doing research for a durable roof that could withstand the tough winter weather of Thunder Bay. His 1938 home previously had cedar shake shingles that were deteriorating.

“I’m extremely pleased with this impressive engineered product,” says George. “It’s got everything we need here in Canada --- a 50-year limited warranty that means I’ll never have to replace the roof again in my lifetime, incredible fire-, impact- and insect-resistance, and the aesthetic look that perfectly fits our neighborhood.”

While George is happy to serve as the local celebrity with his new DaVinci roof, he doesn’t believe his status will last too long. “Our installers know of one woman who ‘ordered’ her husband to look at our roof,” says George. “They just had a new asphalt roof installed last month and she told her husband to have it ripped off to replace it with a DaVinci roof. Plus, our neighbors are having their roof measured and quoted for a new DaVinci roof. So, it seems that we’ve started a trend in our neighborhood!”

The Sabino blend of Bellaforté Slate product George selected for his roof features Dark Mountain and Dark Autumn colors that complement the brown tones of his home, including the red/brown brick and brown fascia accents. Bellaforté roofing tiles have all the appearance and beauty of natural slate roofing tiles but with a higher level of durability thanks to the company’s proprietary-engineered polymer roofing formula.

Available in 12-inch tile widths, Bellaforté tiles feature snap-fit tabs for easy installation. The product’s patented self-aligning features, including the leading edge tab, aligning ledge and product design, all help reduce installation time. At a half-inch tile thickness, Bellaforté Slate roofing tiles are twice the thickness of most other synthetic slates. All DaVinci non-porous roofing tiles resist curling, cracking and fading, mold, algae, fungus and insects under normal conditions.
