Roof Party

What does a homeowner do when he’s so happy with his new Bellaforté roof that he wants to share it with family and friends? If that homeowner is Dan Baer, he throws a roof party!

“We’re hosting a party on our balcony to celebrate our new roof,” proclaims Baer, a homeowner in Yorba Linda, California. “I want everyone to reach out, touch this roof, and see why we’re so excited. The DaVinci slate looks like authentic slate but it’s completely man-made. I’m thrilled with the quality of the product, the custom color we selected, and the fire-resistancy of this polymer roof.”

Baer and his family have a solid reason to celebrate their new Bellaforté roof from DaVinci. In 2008 they watched from their back porch as raging wildfire flames came within a half mile of their home. That was too close for comfort for Baer, who was concerned about the old wooden shake shingles on their roof at the time.

“More than 50 homes burned in our area during the one fire,” says Baer. “If the winds had been stronger, our home would have been included. That old shake roof was a tinderbox waiting to ignite. Our new Bellaforté polymer tiles are rated Class A for fire retardance, which gives us tremendous peace of mind.”

Both strong and beautiful, the Bellaforté roofing tiles recently installed on the home are made of a custom color designed by Baer and his wife, Cynthia. “I selected colors to complement our overall home,” says Baer. “Our custom blend is a mix of light brown, medium brown, medium tan, and dark amber. DaVinci used its VariBlend™ technology to create a continuous variation from tile to tile, which resulted in a beautiful, natural blend.”

VariBlend technology creates an infinite number of color shades in custom-color and standard color blends. Homeowners have the option of creating their own personalized color shades or may create a color blend from 49 existing standard colors of roofing tiles. The DaVinci Color Design Studio provides color guidance to homeowners seeking to personalize their roof.

“We’ll be ‘partying on the roof’ to celebrate our new Bellaforté roof this month,” says Baer. “However, the real celebration is that we now feel safer in our home and have the added confidence that this roof will require almost no maintenance hassles for the next five decades. This was an investment I was happy to make because the benefits are so great.”

Backed by a 50-year limited warranty, the patented snap-fit, self-locating Bellaforté 12" slate roofing tiles include an integrated rain gutter, leading edge tab, and rain dam. The roofing tiles use 20% less material than traditional synthetic and natural slate shingles, saving resources and reducing the tile weight. A square of Bellaforté roofing tile weighs just 185 pounds, helping reduce both installation time and landfill load due to reduced construction waste.

The DaVinci Color Design Program includes an introduction to roofing colors and blends, a Color Design online tool, and personalized color consultation assistance. DaVinci offers a wide spectrum of 49 warm and cool colors in shake and slate roofing tiles. The company also has 28 unique roofing color blends as standard options.
